Brief Report on MoU Signing event with CyberPeace Foundation

IGDTUW, Delhi signed an MoU with CyberPeace Foundation for Collaborative Research in the field of Cyber Security

Department of Information Technology, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Delhi signed Memorandum of Understanding with CyberPeace Foundation (CPF) on 17th January, 2019 at IGDTUW campus, Delhi. Dr Amita Dev, Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Delhi and Mr Vineet Kumar, President CyberPeace Foundation signed the MoU. On this occasion, Ms Jaya Chittur, Vice President, CPF, Mr Nitish Chandan, Project Manager, CPF, Dr Arun Sharma, HoD-IT, IGDTUW along with Registrar, Deans, HoDs, Faculty members and students of IGDTUW were also present.

Dr Amita Dev, Vice Chancellor, IGDTUW on this occasion congratulated the department of IT for taking this initiative and stressed upon the need of awareness about cyber security among girls students. She advised the students to undergo high quality of research in the field of cyber security and cyber forensics. Mr Vineet Kumar from CPF introduced about CyberPeace Foundation and its various initiatives. CPF is involved in Policy Advocacy, Research and Training related to all aspects of Cyber Peace and Cyber Security.

The main objective of the MoU will be to encourage collaborative research in the field of Cyber Security, Cyber Defense and Internet Engineering and Governance. Under this initiative, CyberPeace Research Centre will be established in IGDTUW which will promote entrepreneurship in cyber security to support the Start-up India and Stand-up India initiatives of the Government of India. It will also promote innovation, design facilitate and development of algorithms and develop the indigenous software tools for cyber security and internet standards under the ‘Make in India’ initiative of Government of India. IGDTUW is already having an Incubation Centre (Anveshan Foundation), established by Government of NCT of Delhi where currently 9 start up companies are working.
